Ahead of Tuesday’s Champions League Quarter Final vs Manchester City, we asked some of our LFCDaytrippers for their predictions ahead of the big game……

“I can’t wait for this one. I said before the first leg that I felt this Liverpool side was tailored made stylistically to cause Manchester City problems and I don’t see that changing in the second leg.
One of Manchester City’s strength’s is their ability to defend from the front & obvious quality in possession. This means that the opposition very rarely make it through to attack City’s defensive line. However, I firmly believe that if teams are brave in their play, take calculated gambles and look to break lines in order to attack City’s back four, they can be exposed. With the pace we have in wide areas and now from deep with Chamberlain, I think we will cause Manchester City lot’s of problems and better yet, they know it too.
The fact that City have to come at us tomorrow gives me great confidence that we can nick a goal on the break, meaning City would then have score FIVE on the night. With City’s undoubted quality, I expect them to score a few goals. However, with our renewed defensive stability coupled with the discipline in blocking passing lanes in the first leg, I feel we have enough to get the job done over the two legs. If we do that, it puts to bed any doubts about this Liverpool teams ability and mental application. We’re a match for absolutely anybody in Europe and believe me, the world’s watching.
Prediction: Man City 2-2 Liverpool

“The biggest game of the season. The biggest game in years. The game that defines the season as a success or failure.
Even though we approach the 2nd leg of a champions league 1/4 final 3 goals to the good, with the possibility of an away goal to come, it’s a tie that still feels very much in the balance. We’ve seen City take games away from teams in the space of 20 mins and score goals in bunches. This aspect frightens me although, the fact that under Jurgen Klopp Liverpool can also boast of this ability, gives me some comfort.
I don’t expect City to go all out attack from the off because they are good enough to score 3+ goals by playing their usual style. What I do expect is for Liverpool to implement their normal game which aims to bring mayhem to the match that City do not want to deal with.
If we can use our front 3 from the start, I expect a 1st half goal that kills the tie. I think both teams will score, City will win but Liverpool are to go through to the semi’s of the Champions League. Not a sentence I expected to be saying this season. Up to European Royalty Reds!”
Prediction: Man City 2-1 Liverpool

“I honestly don’t know what to think going into this 2nd leg. The Manchester derby at the weekend was certainly a game of two halves. After watching the 2nd half, I’d say we’re nailed on to come through the tie comfortably but watching the first half where City should’ve been 4 or 5 up, is a worry.
I’m nervous as I think people are taking for granted the fact that we’ll score (even though it’s very likely) and seem to be forgetting that City are a fantastic attacking outfit. I’m hoping our new found defensive solidity will continue but this is LFC and we never do anything easy”
Prediction: Man City 3- 1 Liverpool (and me behind the couch for most of game)

“On Tuesday night…. the reds march into the Etihad holding a 3 goal lead…. it’s time to march into a semi final!
Prediction: Man City 3-3 Liverpool

“Most fans seem genuinely concerned that if we concede early then we could be in for a long night. The clean sheet at home was huge for me and ultimately gives what I believe is an overrated City side, too much to do in the 2nd leg.
Personally, I can’t see Man City attacking us for 90 mins and not leaving huge gaps for us to exploit. I’m expecting Manè and Salah to score 2 goals between them in an entertaining 2-2 draw”
