Liverpool will look to raid Red Bull Leipzig once more this summer, this time looking to take their forward Timo Werner.
It’s gone further than that from what I’ve heard, they are actually going to try and sign him.
The 22 year old German international has gone from strength to strength since moving to Red Bull Leipzig 2016, he scored 21 goals in 32 games games last season and is already on 16 this season.
He also look set to be an important member of the German national team for this summers World Cup after scoring 7 goals in only 10 appearances.
Manchester United also hold an interest in Werner, with the striker recently admitting his admiration for both clubs.
‘Manchester United and Liverpool were the teams I watched quite a lot in England. They were the two that I’m a little bit a fan of, because they have so much history,’ said Werner.
‘When I have to decide, I’m more Manchester United than Liverpool.
‘I’m now at a point where at some stage in the future I’d like to play in a team that wins titles.’
If the German side do sell Timo Werner this summer it would cost any team more than the £55m that Liverpool paid for Naby Keita last summer.
