Meanwhile his performances didn’t go unnoticed before a host of championship clubs and premier league clubs got interested in him.
However it was Hull City who made the first move and got his signature for a deal of 2.85 million in the summer of 2014 after which he made 99 appearance for the tigers and scoring 3 goals eventually got the eye of Jurgen Klopp following summer of 2017 he signed for Liverpool football club for a fee of 8 million and potentially rising up to 10 million depending upon appearances and his success. He was initially bought to replace the Spaniard Alberto Moreno who was struggling to seal his place in the side with Klopp putting his trust on James Milner as left back for 2016-17 season.
The Scotsman was full of delight when he signed for Liverpool stating
“My family are proud of what I’ve achieved so far and they’re all over the moon with the move, as well as me of course. We’re all just looking forward to being part of the Liverpool family now. There’s not many, if any, more special clubs than Liverpool. When you grow up as a kid you dream of playing with big clubs such as Liverpool and to make that a reality is a dream come true for me.”

He has a burning love for playing football – he really loves the game. His attitude is outstanding – absolutely outstanding. His talent and skills – also very, very good.”
Robertson start to Liverpool career was anything but easy with Klopp picking Alberto Moreno over him because of the Spaniards form he has shown in Pre-season; However Moreno suffered an injury which eventually led the Scotsman takeover his place and grabbed the opportunity with both hands.
His impressive performances and his willing to run for the team made him an instant fan favourite.
Liverpool career :
Though he had tough start to his career at Liverpool, Robertson managed to seal his place in the side and has since cemented his place as the first choice left-back.
One of his main strengths has been willing to take on a man in one on one situation, taking the ball and running across the left flank and crossing is a more predominant sign for Liverpool fans which saw him earned nick name “The flying Scotsman”. His most impressive performance comes from 5-0 demolition of Porto in Portugal earning him acknowledgment from his Klopp in post match interview
