As Roma have rejected a bid from Liverpool for their Brazilian shot stopper Alisson Becker, according to Rome based Newspaper iltempo.
It is not known how much the bid was for, however AS Roma are believed to be holding out for a fee in the region of £44m.
Jurgen Klopp has been rotating his his two goalkeepers this season with Simon Mignolet playing in the Premier League & Loris Karius getting the Champions League games.
This all changed prior to the Manchester City game when Klopp announced that Karius would be given the chance at staking a claim between the sticks.
“He’s the number one, he might make mistakes but this is life,” said Klopp.
However in the two games that Karius has played he has conceded four goals in total, Mignolet came back in for the FA Cup game and conceded three goals.
The goalkeeping position would seem to be a position of weakness for the Reds and an Alisson bid would make sense.
If he does well in this summers Word Cup with Brazil his price would only sky rocket, and with Roma already feeling that they under sold the prolific Mo Salah to Liverpool last summer they will be eager not to make the same mistake this time around.
Jurgen Klopp has already confirmed that it would be unlikely that Liverpool would make any further signings this window, after signing Virgil Van Dijk & Tony Gallagher.
With only three days left in the transfer window, Liverpool will have to decide whether or not to make another Alisson bid or to keep in faith in what they have until the end of the window.
