Daniel Sturridge loan deal to Newcastle is close, according to The Times.
The final details are still being thrashed out. Newcastle must pay a £1.5M loan fee & all of Sturridge’s £120,000-a-week wages for the rest of the season.
The striker was not part of the FA Cup loss to West Brom on Saturday, only yesterday news broke that a possible loan move to Inter Milan was off.
The forward was looking for a move away from Anfield this January as he looks to cement his place in Gareath Southgate’s World Cup plans.
He has been plagued by injury over the last 3 years and it would seem that Reds manager Jurgen Klopp has Dominic Solanke above Sturridge in the pecking order.
Liverpool paid £12m for Sturridge in the January window of 2012, and he went on to score 63 goals in 133 games for Liverpool.
